Bhutan Launches “Good Care Blueprint” to Strengthen Child Wellbeing Nationwide
Bhutan has reinforced its commitment to child wellbeing with the launch of the Integrated Childcare Advisory Package (ICCAP), also known as the “Good Care Blueprint,” a comprehensive guide designed to support parents and caregivers across the country.
Rooted in Bhutan’s development philosophy of Gross National Happiness, the initiative places children at the center of national progress by promoting holistic growth, safety, and wellbeing.
The ICCAP provides practical and culturally relevant guidance on key areas such as child health, nutrition, protection, mental wellbeing, and digital safety. It aims to equip families and caregivers with the knowledge and tools needed to create nurturing environments for children in every community.
The programme was officially launched by the Hon’ble Sowai Lyonpo and Hon’ble Sherig Lyonpo in collaboration with UNICEF, reflecting a strong partnership to enhance parenting practices and childcare support systems in Bhutan.
Officials highlighted that the initiative represents a shared national vision to ensure every child grows up in a safe, supportive, and enabling environment. By strengthening caregiving practices and promoting informed parenting, Bhutan continues to take meaningful steps toward securing a brighter future for its younger generation.
