Pokhara | 6 February 2026 : In a proud and historic moment, the Brigade of Gurkhas officially welcomed 323 Nepalese recruits into the British Gurkha Army (RI 2026) during a special ceremony held in Pokhara.
The selection marks the successful end of an intense and highly competitive process. Out of more than 14,000 applicants, only 323 candidates earned the honour to serve, underlining the prestige, discipline, and global respect associated with the Gurkha legacy.
Family members, officials, and well-wishers witnessed the ceremony as the newly selected recruits took their first step toward a life defined by courage, loyalty, and service. The Brigade of Gurkhas continues to uphold its long-standing tradition of excellence, drawing young men from Nepal who aspire to serve in one of the world’s most respected military forces.
