Royal Bhutan Police and Singapore Police Strengthen Ties to Advance Modern Policing
Thimphu, October 27, 2025:
The Royal Bhutan Police (RBP) and the Singapore Police Force (SPF) have renewed their pledge to deepen cooperation through a bilateral meeting held today in Thimphu. The dialogue aimed at broadening collaboration across multiple dimensions of law enforcement and policing.
The meeting explored several key areas of mutual interest — including the use of digital technologies in policing, combating cyber threats, enhancing forensic capabilities, promoting community-based policing, and fostering professional growth among officers.
During the discussions, the Chief of Police of the RBP highlighted Bhutan’s ongoing initiatives to modernize its policing system by integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and expanding CCTV surveillance networks, despite limited resources. He also lauded Singapore’s advanced, technology-driven policing practices and expressed appreciation for its readiness to share expertise and technical assistance.
Both police forces expressed their intention to strengthen institutional cooperation and jointly work toward building a police service that is more agile, skilled, and equipped to address evolving security challenges.
The meeting reflected the deepening partnership between the Royal Bhutan Police and the Singapore Police Force, underlining their shared vision of enhancing regional security and promoting innovative, future-ready policing standards.
