Locally Made Bamboo Bridge in Denchukha Washed Away, Cutting Off Gewog Once Again
Samtse, October 31, 2025 — The only connection for the people of Denchukha Gewog in Samtse has been washed away once again, after the locally built bamboo bridge collapsed earlier today due to rising river levels.
The bridge, which was constructed by local residents following the October 5 flood that destroyed the main bridge over the Amochhu, had served as a vital link for the community. With its collapse, Denchukha Gewog has once again been completely cut off, leaving residents deeply worried.
