Bhutan Ambassador Presents Credentials to Kuwait Amir
21 April 2026: In a formal ceremony hosted by the Amiri Diwan of the Kuwait, Ambassador Phub Dorji presented his Letter of Credence to His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah at Bayan Palace, officially accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bhutan to Kuwait.
Ambassador Phub Dorji becomes the 11th Ambassador of Bhutan to Kuwait. During the audience, he conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from His Majesty The King, Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen, His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, the Royal Family, and the people of Bhutan to the Amir, the Royal Family, and the people of Kuwait.
Bhutan and Kuwait share longstanding diplomatic ties, established in 1983 with the opening of the Bhutanese Consulate General in Kuwait. The mission was later upgraded to an embassy in April 1986, reflecting growing cooperation between the two nations. The Embassy of Kuwait in Bhutan was subsequently established in December 2010, further strengthening bilateral relations.
