BSF Launches Vigilance Awareness Week in Malda to Strengthen Border Surveillance with Public Participation
Malda, October 27:
The Border Security Force (BSF) has initiated Vigilance Awareness Week to enhance border surveillance by involving local residents in vigilance activities. The campaign was officially launched on Monday morning at the BSF headquarters in Narayanpur, Old Malda.
Addressing a press conference on the occasion, BSF DIG Ajit Kumar explained that the aim of the initiative is to spread awareness among border residents about the importance of vigilance. “During the Vigilance Awareness Week, BSF personnel interact with local people living along the border to make them aware of vigilance measures and their significance,” he said.
As part of the campaign, banners and posters have been displayed in various areas highlighting vigilance messages and contact information of BSF officers responsible for vigilance operations. This allows civilians to immediately inform the BSF about any suspicious movement or anti-national activity they observe near the border.
The week-long programme will be observed across all sectors under the Malda Headquarters. DIG Ajit Kumar further emphasized that BSF personnel always maintain cordial relations with villagers living in border areas. “This mutual trust ensures both the safety of the villagers and the efficiency of BSF operations,” he added.
The Vigilance Awareness Week is expected to strengthen cooperation between the BSF and the local community, fostering greater security and awareness along India’s sensitive border regions.
