Jomotsangkha Wildlife Sanctuary Rescues Abandoned Male Elephant Calf
Jomotsangkha Wildlife Sanctuary (JWS) has successfully rescued an abandoned male elephant calf from Jampani, Jomotshangkha, on the auspicious occasion of Chunipa Losar.According to JWS officials, the calf was found alone and vulnerable, prompting immediate action by sanctuary staff. The rescue team safely transported the elephant calf to the sanctuary’s rescue shed, where he is now under close monitoring and dedicated care by the Division team.
Veterinary assessment and round-the-clock care are being provided to ensure the calf’s health and well-being. The timely intervention by JWS staff highlights the sanctuary’s continued commitment to wildlife conservation and animal welfare.
Authorities have assured that further steps will be taken in line with wildlife rescue protocols, with the calf’s long-term care and rehabilitation being a priority.
