Gangtok, March 21: Fresh snowfall continued in the higher-altitude areas of Sikkim on Saturday, affecting movement in the upper mountainous regions.

Despite the prevailing weather conditions, the Jawaharlal Nehru (JN) Road in East Sikkim remains open and clear for vehicular traffic up to the 15th Mile, providing partial access for commuters and travelers.

However, the roads leading to the popular tourist destinations of Tsomgo Lake and Nathu La remain closed due to snow accumulation and safety concerns.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and advised travelers to exercise caution while travelling in the region. Further updates on road conditions are expected depending on the weather.
