Drug Capsules Seized in Jaigaon’s Jharna Basti; Accused on the Run
The action followed specific intelligence inputs about illegal storage of narcotic substances at the residence of Ramjan Ali. A police team from Jaigaon Police Station reached the location to conduct a search.
According to officials, the suspect escaped from the premises after spotting the police team and left behind a bag at the rear side of the house. During the subsequent search and seizure conducted under the supervision of CI Kalchini, Shri Surya Sekhar Ghosh, officers recovered 1,856 capsules marked “SPM PRX+ WOCKHARDT” from the abandoned bag.
The seized materials have been secured as evidence, and necessary legal procedures have been initiated. Police teams are continuing efforts to locate and arrest the absconding individual.
Authorities have once again made it clear that strict action will be taken against those involved in drug-related activities and have appealed to residents to report any suspicious movements or information to the police.
