Illegal Liquor Seized in Birpara, One Arrested
A team from Birpara Police Station under Alipurduar District Police carried out a successful raid on Sunday afternoon, acting on credible source information.
The operation was conducted at a residence in the Birpara Chowpathi area, where officials recovered approximately 90 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor. The individual present at the location failed to produce any valid license or permit for storing such a quantity.
During preliminary interrogation, it was revealed that the liquor was intended for sale in the grey market.
The accused has been arrested following due legal procedures, and all necessary formalities have been completed. A specific case has been registered under the Bengal Excise Act, 1909 at the police station.
Police officials reaffirmed their commitment to cracking down on illegal activities and ensuring strict enforcement of the law across the district.
