Jinpa Tshewang Wins Druk Gi Nyagoe Quarterfinal in Bumthang
Trongsa’s Jinpa Tshewang secured first place in the Druk Gi Nyagoe quarterfinal after completing all four tasks in an impressive 4 minutes and 1 second. The quarterfinal round of the national strongman competition was held this afternoon in Bumthang.
Bumthang’s Pasang Dorji and Trashi Yangtse’s Tshering Phuntsho followed closely behind, finishing just four seconds and six seconds later, respectively.
Nyagoes from Dagana, Thimphu, Pema Gatshel, Chhukha, Gasa, Trashigang, and Haa have also qualified for the semifinals.
According to event officials, five contenders withdrew midway through the competition, while four others were eliminated.
The semifinals, scheduled for Saturday, December 13, will feature the top 10 competitors competing for five spots in the main Druk Gi Nyagoe event on National Day.
