Jaigaon Police Nab Three Drug Peddlers in Gaurigaon, Marking Another Breakthrough in Anti-Narcotics Drive
In a continued effort to transform Jaigaon into a drug-free city, the Jaigaon Police recorded another major achievement on Tuesday. Acting on a tip-off from confidential sources, a special police team carried out a strategic raid in the Gaurigaon locality under Jaigaon Police Station.
During the operation, officers intercepted several suspects and conducted detailed searches. The team recovered a substantial quantity of two varieties of illegal narcotic tablets. Three individuals, all hailing from Jaigaon, were taken into custody at the scene.
A case has been filed against the accused under provisions of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway to uncover the larger network involved in the trafficking of these drugs.
Police officials issued a stern warning to those engaged in drug peddling, stating that anyone involved in such activities will ultimately face legal consequences.
Speaking at a press briefing, Jaigaon SDPO Prashant Devnath highlighted the police department’s unwavering zero-tolerance approach toward narcotics. He stated that the anti-drug operations will continue vigorously, with increased focus on dismantling the drug supply chain.
This successful operation has boosted community confidence and is being viewed as a significant step toward creating a safer, drug-free Jaigaon.
