Government of India Hands Over 32-Seater Bus to Support MBBS Students
Thimphu | The Deputy Chief of Mission of the Indian Embassy officially handed over a 32-seater bus to Dr. Gyem Dorji, Dean of the Faculty of Undergraduate Medicine, with the bus generously supported by the Government of India through the PTA.
The handover ceremony was graced by the Hon’ble Health Minister, Hon’ble Health Secretary, President of KGUMSB, and officials from the Indian Embassy, highlighting the strong partnership in the health and education sectors between the two countries.
The new bus marks a major relief for MBBS students, who had been facing significant challenges commuting between the Taba campus and JDWNRH for their clinical practice. The facility will greatly improve daily mobility, safety, and learning efficiency for students.
The Faculty of Undergraduate Medicine expressed sincere gratitude to the Government of India for its continued support in strengthening medical education and advancing MBBS programs in the country, reaffirming a shared commitment to developing a skilled and resilient healthcare workforce.
