Four Stolen Motorcycles Recovered by Jaigaon Police Following Suspect’s Interrogation
Alipurduar District, Jaigaon 04 November 2025 : Jaigaon Police recovered four stolen motorcycles from a dense forest area in Jaigaon’s Volan Chowpati locality after interrogating a youth arrested on charges of theft. The recovery was announced during a press conference held by Jaigaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mingma Lama.
According to police reports, a motorcycle theft complaint was filed on 27 November 2025. Acting on the complaint, police arrested Monis Ekka, a resident of Kalchini Rangamati area. During police remand, Ekka provided crucial information, admitting his involvement in the theft.
Based on his confession, police conducted a search in a deep forest near Volan Chowpati, where they not only recovered the motorcycle mentioned in the complaint but also found three additional stolen motorcycles concealed in the same area. Investigations revealed that Ekka had stolen motorcycles from different locations and hidden them inside the forest.
The police have initiated legal proceedings and produced the accused before the Alipurduar court.
Authorities believe that further interrogation may uncover more details related to the thefts. Police have also circulated information about the three additional recovered motorcycles to nearby police stations to trace their rightful owners.
