Drukair Welcomes New Pilatus PC-24 Jet, Marking a Significant Milestone for Bhutan’s Aviation Sector

Drukair reached a major milestone with the arrival of its new Pilatus PC-24 light jet at Paro International Airport, strengthening both the national airline’s fleet and the country’s overall aviation capability. The Swiss-manufactured aircraft, equipped with eight seats and engineered for short and challenging runway conditions, is well-suited to Bhutan’s unique geographical terrain.

The versatile PC-24 will play a key role in supporting important national priorities, including corporate travel for the Gelephu Mindfulness City project, emergency response operations, and other specialized missions requiring speed, flexibility, and efficiency.

The aircraft was received with a traditional chipdrel ceremony and a formal welcome attended by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, alongside senior government officials and aviation representatives.

The induction of the PC-24 reflects Drukair’s continued commitment to modernizing Bhutan’s aviation infrastructure and aligning with the nation’s development goals. This addition marks a forward step in enhancing connectivity, operational readiness, and national service capability..
