₹50,000 Fraud Amount Recovered and Refunded to Jaigaon Resident

A case of alleged digital payment fraud reported through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP) has been successfully resolved, with the full amount recovered and returned to the complainant.
On 06 December 2025, an NCRP complaint was received from Vikash Das, a resident of Jaigaon, Alipurduar. In his complaint, he stated that on 03 December 2025, he had handed over his mobile phone to his colleague, Dheeraj Kumar, to make a phone call.
Later, on 05 December 2025, while checking his bank account, Vikash Das discovered that an amount of ₹50,000 had been transferred via Google Pay on 03 December 2025 to an individual named Ranjan Kumar, without his knowledge or consent.
Upon contacting the recipient, Ranjan Kumar allegedly denied returning the money. Suspecting that he had been cheated, the complainant lodged a formal complaint. All transaction details and relevant information were duly recorded on the NCRP portal. Visit Here
Following a proper enquiry and after completing all legal formalities, the authorities successfully recovered the full amount of ₹50,000. On 19 December 2025, the recovered amount was credited back to the complainant’s bank account, bringing the case to a successful conclusion.
The incident highlights the importance of promptly reporting cyber and digital payment-related frauds to ensure timely action and recovery.
