SSB 72nd Battalion Celebrates 150th Anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’ with Patriotic Fervor
Gyalshing, November 12: The 72nd Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Yuksam, Sikkim, organized a series of patriotic activities today under the inspiring leadership of the Second-in-Command as part of the week-long celebration commemorating the 150th Anniversary of India’s National Song “Vande Mataram.” The celebration runs from November 7 to November 14, 2025.
As part of the event, a mass singing of “Vande Mataram” and an awareness rally were held at Eklavya Model Residential School, Gangyap, and Milling Secondary School, Karmatar, under the aegis of the Battalion Headquarters and E Company, Intek, respectively.
Teachers and students enthusiastically participated, filling the campus with patriotic chants of “Vande Mataram.”
Addressing the gathering, the Second-in-Command highlighted that the National Song “Vande Mataram” symbolizes unity, honor, and pride of the nation. He urged everyone to strengthen their dedication, sense of duty, and national pride through such collective expressions of patriotism.
The Sashastra Seema Bal continues to promote national integration, cultural awareness, and community participation through various initiatives in the border regions.
