🐻 Bhutanese Woman Injured in Bear Attack in Samtse
A 37-year-old Bhutanese woman was mauled by a bear earlier Wednesday afternoon in Phendegang village, Norgaygang Gewog, Samtse.
According to local sources, the woman was adjusting a water sprinkler in her cardamom orchard near her home when the bear suddenly attacked. She sustained serious injuries while trying to protect her face.
The injured woman was immediately airlifted to the national referral hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Authorities have urged residents in the area to remain cautious as wildlife encounters have reportedly increased in recent weeks.
