Massive King Cobra Rescued Near Lankapara Hindi High School in Madarihat–Birpara Block
Alipurduar 19 Nov :A massive King Cobra created panic and excitement in the Madarihat–Birpara block after it was spotted in front of Lankapara Hindi High School on Tuesday. Local residents were the first to notice the rare and highly venomous snake near the school premises. As the news spread, the area was quickly filled with anxious onlookers and curious crowds.
Upon receiving the information, the Lankapara Forest Department team rushed to the spot and safely captured the snake using special equipment and protective gear. After conducting a preliminary health check, forest officials released the King Cobra into a nearby forest, ensuring its safe return to the wild.
The incident sparked a mix of fear and fascination among locals, as sightings of such a large King Cobra are uncommon in the region. Forest authorities have urged residents to remain cautious and immediately report any future wildlife sightings.
