Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay Arrives in Bangladesh for a Three-Day State Visit
Bhutan’s Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay arrived in Dhaka this morning, officially beginning his three-day State Visit at the invitation of Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser, Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
Upon arrival at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, the Prime Minister was accorded a grand ceremonial welcome, including a gun salute and a Guard of Honour. He was warmly received by the Chief Adviser, accompanied by senior advisers overseeing finance, foreign affairs, commerce, and civil aviation. The chiefs of the Bangladesh Army, Navy, and Air Force were also present during the reception.
Following the welcome ceremony, the Prime Minister visited the National Martyrs’ Memorial in Savar to pay homage to the heroes of the 1971 Liberation War. He laid a floral wreath, observed a minute of silence, signed the visitors’ book, and planted a commemorative sapling.
This high-level visit aims to further deepen the strong friendship, cooperation, and partnership between Bhutan and Bangladesh.
