His Majesty The King Appoints New Heads of Key Constitutional Offices

His Majesty The King granted Dhar today to appoint the Chairperson and Members of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), the Chief Election Commissioner and Commissioners of the Election Commission, and the Auditor General of the Royal Audit Authority (RAA).
As per the Royal Command:

Pema Choden, who was serving as the Foreign Secretary, has been appointed as the new Chairperson of the Anti-Corruption Commission.

Deki Pema, the former ACC Chairperson, has been appointed as the new Chief Election Commissioner.

Jamtsho, who was serving as a Member of the ACC, has been appointed as the new Auditor General of the Royal Audit Authority.
Furthermore, Jigme Thinley Namgyel, formerly Consul General in Guwahati, and Sonam Pelden Thaye, Director General at the Royal Civil Service Commission, have been appointed as Commissioners of the Election Commission.
In addition, A. Karma Rinzin, who was serving as a Member of the ACC, has been appointed for a second term, along with Gyeltshen, Director General at the ACC.
The appointments reflect His Majesty’s continued trust in experienced and capable leaders to uphold the integrity, transparency, and accountability of the nation’s key constitutional institutions.
