Thimphu, October 28, 2025 — In line with the rotational system, Bhutan has been given the opportunity to nominate the next President of the Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA). Mrs. Tshering Yangden, the Director General of the Royal Institute of Management (RIM), has been appointed as the President of AMDISA, making history as the first woman to ever lead the Association.
The appointment was officially confirmed during the 17th General Assembly of AMDISA, held on 28 October 2025 at the AMDISA Secretariat, Hyderabad Campus, India. Mrs. Yangden will serve a two-year term, marking a proud achievement for both Bhutan and the Royal Institute of Management, highlighting the country’s growing contribution to regional management education and leadership.
Since joining AMDISA in 2011, the Royal Institute of Management has played an active role in promoting collaboration and knowledge exchange among member institutions in South Asia.
Established in 1989, AMDISA is a non-profit regional network of 334 management development institutions from across South Asia. It serves as a platform for advancing management education through collaboration, research, training, and capacity building initiatives.
The Association’s South Asian Quality Assurance System (SAQS) — its hallmark accreditation program — has become an internationally recognized standard for excellence, helping to raise the quality and credibility of business and management education in the region.
