Chief Justice of India Calls on Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay
Thimphu, October 24, 2025 — His Excellency Mr. Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai, Hon’ble Chief Justice of India, paid a courtesy call on Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay today.
During the meeting, discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between the judicial institutions of Bhutan and India, with particular emphasis on the growing role of technology and artificial intelligence in enhancing judicial efficiency and access to justice.
Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay expressed deep appreciation for India’s continued and steadfast support for Bhutan’s development. He acknowledged India’s vital assistance in key sectors such as infrastructure, capacity building, and human resource development, which have played a crucial role in Bhutan’s socio-economic progress.
The meeting underscored the enduring friendship and close cooperation between the two neighbouring nations, reaffirming their shared commitment to mutual growth and institutional strengthening.
