Leopard Found Dead Near Tea Garden Road in Kalchini, Sparks Concern
A dead leopard was discovered on the roadside near Raimatang Tea Garden in the Kalchini block, creating a stir among local residents on Friday morning. The animal’s body was spotted by locals along the road leading to the tea garden.
According to initial assumptions by residents, the leopard may have died after being hit by a vehicle. The incident quickly drew attention in the area.
After receiving information, forest personnel from the Buxa Tiger Reserve reached the spot and recovered the carcass of the leopard.
Forest officials stated that the exact cause of the leopard’s death will only be confirmed after a post-mortem examination. The matter is currently under investigation.
