Jaigaon Promised Municipality Status and Full-Fledged Hospital if TMC Returns to Power

Jaigaon, Alipurduar: Abhishek Banerjee, General Secretary of the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC), on Thursday assured that Jaigaon would be upgraded into a municipality and provided with a full-fledged hospital if the party forms the government for the fourth consecutive term in West Bengal.

Banerjee made this announcement while addressing a massive roadshow in Jaigaon in support of TMC’s Kalchini विधानसभा candidate Birendra Bara Oraon ahead of the upcoming state विधानसभा elections.

He arrived at Gopimohan Ground in Jaigaon by helicopter at around 3:30 PM and began the roadshow from there. The procession moved through Bhutan Gate and covered major parts of the town before culminating near the Super Market area, where Banerjee addressed a large gathering.

During his speech, Banerjee emphasized that he fulfills his commitments, citing previous promises delivered in Dhupguri. He stated that the assurance of municipal status and a full-fledged hospital for Jaigaon is not merely a promise but a commitment that will be implemented if TMC returns to power.

The roadshow witnessed an overwhelming turnout, with large crowds lining the main roads of Jaigaon, turning the event into a massive public gathering.

Banerjee also announced that former MLA Wilson Champamari has joined TMC and will work for the party in the coming days.

In his address, he criticized the policies of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging they are anti-people, and highlighted several welfare schemes introduced by the TMC government, including Lakshmir Bhandar and Banglar Awas.

He urged voters to exercise their democratic rights and respond through the ballot in the upcoming elections.

The event saw participation from people across Jaigaon, with party flags and supporters filling the streets throughout the route of the roadshow.
