Brown Sugar Seized in Guabari, One Arrested by Jaigaon Police
On 11 February 2026 at around 6:30 pm, acting on specific source information, a police team conducted a raid at Guabari in Jaigaon. During the operation, Rafikul Miya alias Tanu (35), a resident of Guabari, was apprehended from his house.
During the search, police recovered 22.31 grams of brown sugar from his possession. The entire search and seizure process was carried out in the presence of Inspector Shri Surya Sekhar Ghosh, Circle Inspector of Kalchini, ensuring due legal procedure.
The accused has been taken into custody and will be produced before the court on Thursday. Police are likely to seek remand for further investigation.
Jaigaon Police have reiterated their zero tolerance stand against drug trafficking and have assured that such drives will continue to curb the menace in the area.
