Woman’s Body Found Along Phuentsholing–Samtse Highway
Phuentsholing: The Royal Bhutan Police on Thursday recovered the body of a woman from Halhaley, located about 33 kilometres from Phuentsholing on the Phuentsholing–Samtse highway, following a tip-off from a passerby.Police said the deceased was a resident of Tendruk and had been driving a Swift car. She was reportedly alone at the time of the incident. Initial findings suggest the body had been lying at the location for several days, resulting in partial decomposition.
The woman had been reported missing earlier by her husband at the South Thimphu Police Station after he was unable to contact her and found her phone switched off.
Preliminary investigation indicates that she may have lost control of the vehicle, leading to the fatal accident. Authorities have stated that further inquiry is ongoing to establish the exact cause.
After completing required legal procedures, the body was formally handed over to the family.
