India–Bhutan Business Networking Session Held in Phuentsholing
Phuentsholing: The Consulate General of India in Phuentsholing organised an India–Bhutan Business Networking Session in collaboration with the Regional Revenue & Customs Office, Phuentsholing, the Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Kalchini Block Chamber of Commerce.
The session focused on the recent introduction of the Goods and Services Tax in Bhutan and key changes in the GST regime in India. The discussions drew active participation from business representatives, traders, and professionals from both Bhutan and India.
Customs officials and subject experts from the two countries delivered detailed and practical presentations, helping participants gain a clearer understanding of GST procedures, compliance requirements, and cross border trade implications. The interactive exchange allowed stakeholders to raise queries and share experiences related to taxation and trade.
The networking session was widely appreciated by participants, who described it as timely and informative. The initiative contributed to strengthening business awareness and cooperation, while reinforcing the close economic partnership between India and Bhutan.
