Abhishek Banerjee Engages with Tea Garden Workers in Alipurduar, Reaffirms TMC’s Commitment

Alipurduar, West Bengal:
On the second day of the “Ran Sankalp Sabha” programme, All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee visited the Majherdabri Tea Garden in Alipurduar district, where he interacted closely with tea garden workers and learned about their daily lives and long-standing challenges.

During his visit, Banerjee outlined the Trinamool Congress government’s “Maa-Mati-Manush” welfare initiatives and discussed key issues faced by tea workers, assuring them that their grievances would be addressed with urgency. He emphasized that the party remains firmly committed to resolving the problems of tea garden communities that have remained neglected for decades. Ad1

Reiterating the party’s inclusive ideology, Banerjee said the Trinamool Congress stands by people of all castes, religions, and communities without discrimination. Addressing concerns surrounding SIR (Special Intensive Revision) and related anxieties, he urged residents not to panic and to place their trust in the Trinamool Congress.

“The Trinamool Congress is acting as a vigilant guardian of democracy in Bengal,” Banerjee said, adding that no lawful citizen of the state would be deprived of their voting rights. He accused the BJP of attempting to undermine Bengal’s development for narrow political gains, spreading communal divisions, and inflicting injustices on Bengalis. Ad2

Banerjee asserted that the people of Bengal would respond decisively to what he described as the BJP’s “anti-Bengal politics” in the upcoming elections. “From the land of harmony and pluralism, the people of Bengal will reject authoritarianism and protect democratic values,” he said, expressing confidence that voters would once again deliver a strong message in defence of unity and development.
