🙏 Global Peace Prayer 2025: A Historic Spiritual Gathering in Bhutan
4th November 2025 — A moment of profound significance for Bhutan and the world. His Majesty The King, His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen, and members of the Royal Family graced the opening of the Global Peace Prayer at Changlimithang Stadium, Thimphu today.
His Holiness the Je Khenpo presided over the opening prayers as an unprecedented number of devotees—many arriving as early as 3:00 a.m.—gathered for Bhutan’s first-ever assembly of eminent global Buddhist leaders of this scale. The main prayer ground was filled to capacity, with thousands more overflowing into the adjoining football stadium.
Devotees from across Bhutan and visitors from around the world, representing diverse Buddhist traditions and sects, came together in unity and reverence. As a deeply Buddhist nation, this vast and inclusive participation holds special spiritual and cultural significance for Bhutan.
Simultaneously, prayers are also being held at Kuenselphodrang, where the Central Monastic Body has commenced the Jabzhi Gyap rituals for global peace and well-being.
The Global Peace Prayer — hosted by the Royal Government of Bhutan in partnership with the Central Monastic Body — stands as a beacon of hope, compassion, and harmony for all sentient beings. 🌏🙏
