Bhutan Tourist Vehicle Attacked in Bihar’s Hisua Area; Accused Arrested After Video Circulates Online
A tourist vehicle transporting Bhutanese visitors from Jaigaon to Bihar was targeted on 24 November in the Hisua police station limits near Bigaha. The case has now been cracked with the arrest of the accused, following rapid police action prompted by widely shared video footage.
As per initial information, the vehicle was moving along the Rajgir–Gaya highway when a motorcyclist abruptly pulled up in front of it, forcing the driver to stop. The man then began assaulting the driver without any apparent reason. When the driver sought an explanation, the attacker allegedly made derogatory remarks about the vehicle’s West Bengal registration number.
A tourist travelling in the vehicle managed to record the entire confrontation, and the video spread quickly across social media. Once the footage went viral, Bihar Police immediately initiated an inquiry.
Investigators later identified the suspect as Kundan Kishor (40), a resident of the Kaushala area in Nawada district. He has been taken into custody, and multiple charges have been filed against him for assault and threatening behaviour.
Police officials have stated that a detailed probe is ongoing. Meanwhile, authorities have increased monitoring and safety measures for tourists and vehicles arriving from outside the state.
