18th Thimphu Half Marathon Celebrates Coronation Day and 70th Birthday of The Fourth Druk Gyalpo

The 18th Edition of the Thimphu Half Marathon was successfully held in the capital today, drawing 135 enthusiastic participants competing across five categories. The event was organized to commemorate the Coronation Day of His Majesty The King and the 70th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty The Fourth Druk Gyalpo.
Despite the cold weather and light morning drizzle, runners displayed remarkable spirit and perseverance as they gathered at the starting line. The race began at 7:00 AM under overcast skies, yet the atmosphere was charged with energy, positivity, and camaraderie.
Organized annually by the Bhutan Amateur Athletic Federation (BAAF), the Thimphu Half Marathon aims to encourage mindful living, physical fitness, and national unity. The event has grown into one of the most anticipated athletic gatherings in the country, symbolizing resilience and collective celebration.
From seasoned athletes to first-time participants, every runner embodied the spirit of determination and joy, turning a chilly, misty morning into a vibrant celebration of health, patriotism, and togetherness.
