Alert Sonapur Police Recover Suspected Stolen Mobile Phones, Case Registered
In a major success against suspected theft activities, Alipurduar District Police recovered several mobile-related articles during an evening patrol under the Sonapur area.
According to police sources, ASI Abhijeet Sarkar of Sonapur Outpost was on RT van duty when he noticed two persons moving suspiciously with carry bags near Putimari More. Acting swiftly, he intercepted and searched them.
During the search operation, police recovered 13 newly packed mobile phones, 5 chargers, 52 tampered mobile glasses, and 3 repaired mobile phones from their possession.
On sustained questioning, the detained individuals reportedly disclosed that the articles had been stolen from the Ghoksadanga area and were intended to be sold at footpath shops in Jaigaon.
Police seized all the recovered articles following due legal procedures and initiated a specific case for further investigation.
Sonapur Police Outpost stated that proactive policing and prevention of criminal activities will continue across the district.
