Over 28 Kilogrammes of Cannabis Recovered in Thimphu, Three Held
Officials said the first parcel, weighing 12.91 kilogrammes, was stopped following information shared by the Customs Office in Thimphu. During questioning, investigators learned that a 33-year-old man had asked a 30-year-old man to collect the package for him. Both were subsequently detained.
As the probe expanded, officers traced a second shipment containing roughly 15.6 kilogrammes of cannabis. The contraband had reportedly been concealed inside air compressor units in an apparent bid to avoid detection.
Authorities have also identified a 40-year-old Indian national who is believed to be linked to the consignments.
Further investigation is underway to uncover others who may be involved in the operation.
