Forest fire scorches over 200 acres in Trashi Yangtze
Trashi Yangtze: A forest fire broke out at around 6 pm today at Jangphutse in Toedtsho Gewog of Trashi Yangtze, burning more than 200 acres of land so far.
Officials said efforts to control the blaze are being hampered by steep terrain and cliff areas, which are restricting access for fire response teams and equipment. The difficult landscape has made containment operations challenging.
The Toedtsho Gup said the incident has been reported to the District Disaster Management Authority, forestry officials, and the police. All concerned agencies are now working together to coordinate response and containment measures.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, and further updates are expected as more details become available.
