Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay attended the opening of the Bhutan SDG Impact Finance Forum today, underscoring a defining moment for Bhutan as the country prepares its development journey beyond its Least Developed Country (LDC) status.
In his keynote remarks, the Prime Minister stressed the need to strengthen small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and support young entrepreneurs, noting that the Pelsung movement plays a crucial role in building a resilient and forward-looking economy.
He highlighted that traditional financing methods are no longer sufficient to meet Bhutan’s evolving aspirations. Lyonchhen called for bold, innovative partnerships that unite the government, international organizations, philanthropic groups, the private sector, and the youth in advancing sustainable development.
Encouraging active participation, he urged attendees to explore Bhutan’s SDG investment opportunities, share expertise, and forge collaborations capable of driving meaningful progress within Bhutan and contributing to global development goals.
The forum serves as an important platform to mobilize ideas, innovation, and investment for Bhutan’s long-term socio-economic transformation. Visit
