Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay arrived in Phuentsholing from Gelephu this afternoon to visit areas severely affected by the recent Amochhu flood.
His visit covered key sites, including the Workforce Management Centre under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment (MoICE) at Amochhu, the NRDCL logging depot, the temporary quarantine centre near the Workforce Management Centre, and the Rigsar Dredging and Crushing Unit — some of the most impacted locations.
The Prime Minister highlighted the need to thoroughly assess the extent of loss and damage to determine both immediate relief and long-term recovery support for those affected. He also commended the coordinated efforts of all individuals, agencies, and organizations involved in the response and restoration work.
Following the visit, Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay departed for the Gyalsung Academy in Jamtsholing, Samtse.
