Bhutan Olympic Committee Signs MoU with Japan’s NCDA to Strengthen Coaching Development
Thimphu, October 29, 2025:
The Bhutan Olympic Committee (BOC) has entered into a two-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Japan’s Nippon Sport Science University Coach Developer Academy (NCDA) to advance sports coaching and capacity-building in Bhutan.
The partnership aims to transform the Bhutan National Coaching Academy into a regional hub for South Asia, offering Bhutanese coaches access to international mentorship, specialized training, and collaborative research opportunities.
Through this initiative, the BOC seeks to enhance coaching standards, foster professional growth among local coaches, and ultimately improve athlete performance across various sports disciplines in the country.
Officials from both institutions expressed optimism that the collaboration will contribute significantly to Bhutan’s long-term sports development goals, while strengthening ties between Bhutan and Japan in the field of sports education and excellence.
