Joint Police-SSB Operation Conducted in Jaigaon to Curb Illegal Infiltration and Drug Abuse
The operation began at around 4:00 PM and involved extensive patrolling and inspections in several sensitive areas of the town. Police and SSB personnel were assisted by sniffer dogs during the operation.
The search initially started in the Rajiv Nagar area near the Jaigaon Bus Stand and later extended to the Super Market area, including its surrounding lanes and other locations considered sensitive from a security perspective. The team also covered NS Road, Bhutan Gate, and Link Road as part of the surveillance drive.
During the operation, police officials interacted with local residents and business owners. They urged citizens to immediately report any suspicious individuals or outsiders seen in their neighborhoods and shared police contact numbers for quick communication. Residents were also encouraged to support efforts to create a drug-free society by informing authorities about any information related to drug trafficking or substance abuse.
As part of the awareness campaign, the team visited several medicine shops and discussed issues related to the misuse of drugs and narcotic substances.
The presence of a large contingent of police personnel, SSB jawans, and sniffer dogs attracted the attention of residents and passersby, many of whom expressed curiosity about the operation. Several local residents appreciated the initiative and praised the police and SSB for their proactive efforts against drug-related activities and illegal infiltration.
Senior officials, including the Jaigaon SDPO, Circle Inspector (CI), and other police officers, were present during the operation. Several senior SSB officials also participated in the joint drive.
