Special Police Naka Checking Launched in Jaigaon GST More to Curb Drug Smuggling
Jaigaon Police Station has launched a special naka checking operation in Jaigaon to further strengthen security measures and crack down on drug smuggling.
The special checking drive began on Tuesday at the GST More area under the leadership of Jaigaon CDPO. Under the operation, every vehicle entering the town is being thoroughly checked.
Police officials said that along with police personnel, sniper dogs and CCTV cameras are also being used during the inspections to detect drugs and other illegal items.
According to the Officer-in-Charge of Jaigaon Police Station, the main objective of the operation is to prevent drugs and other unlawful materials from entering Jaigaon town. Vehicles will be detained and checked at the GST More before entering the town limits.
Officials added that the special naka checking drive will continue in the coming days to strengthen security and tighten the crackdown on narcotics trafficking in the region.
