Soybean Oil Theft Case: Two Arrested, 100 Litres Recovered in Jaigaon
According to police sources, a complaint was lodged on Saturday regarding the theft of soybean oil cartons from the Bholan Turning area under Jaigaon Police Station. Following the complaint, police immediately initiated an investigation.
Under the leadership of Investigating Officer Bishwajit Barman, a team conducted a prompt operation and detained two suspects—Niraj Darji, a resident of Khoklabasti, and Rahul Das from Gopiman.
During interrogation, both accused reportedly confessed to their involvement in the theft. Police recovered 13 cartons of soybean oil from their possession, amounting to approximately 100 litres.
The accused were produced before the court on Sunday and have been remanded to five days of police custody. Authorities stated that further interrogation will be carried out to recover the remaining stolen goods.
Officer-in-Charge of Jaigaon Police Station, Nayan Das, confirmed the developments and said that the investigation is ongoing.
